BEACH SAFETY
The Surf Life Saving Association have a very good site that gives you lots of hints about what to do in our treacherous beach conditions. Have a look at www.surflifesaving.com.au – but here is a short reminder for everyone. Firstly you swim at your own risk if you swim on an unpatrolled beach. In the event that you encounter a rip or strong current, try to stay really calm and tread water or just float and simply let the current take you.
Raise one arm to signal for help.
Never try and swim against a rip. Float with the current and when past the breakers, swim across the rip, then swim back to shore.
CPR COMPRESSIONS
2 breaths in a cleared airway then 30 compressions.
